What You Need to Make Halloween Drinks with Bourbon.
As far as equipment goes, this is a list of items that will be helpful but not required by any means. If you do not have something, improvise and have fun!
- Mixology kit (e.g. cocktail shaker, muddler, strainer, mixing glass, long spoon)
- Cocktail lasses such as:
- Old fashioned glass (rocks glass)
- Highball glass
- Coupe glass
- Whatever you have in your kitchen!
- Ice cubes or crushed ice
Tips to Make Spooky Cocktails.
- Use dry ice.
- Add a plastic spider, gummy eyeball, skeleton key, spider webs or any props you have.
- Use food coloring gel.
- Add a black sugar rim when appropriate.
- Make it into a themed cocktail by adding elements of your favorite scary movie.
- Give it your own spooky twist with fun garnishes for the perfect Halloween cocktail.
Sidenote: If using dry ice be sure to wear gloves, only use a small amount in each glass, and to ensure the ice has completely dissolved (no smoke) before consuming. It will give you a beautifully chilled delicious drink. While this ingredient is perfect for the Halloween spirit, it must be used cautiously.
#1 Black Cat Bourbon Smash.
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 5 fresh blackberries
- 2 oz bourbon
- ¼ oz honey or simple syrup
- Sparkling Lime & Yuzu or ginger beer
- 1 sprig fresh mint
- Black sugar for rim
Rim a rocks glass with sugar, then add blueberries and muddle. Add lime juice, honey, bourbon and ice and stir gently. Top with sparkling Lime and Yuzu. Slap the fresh mint on your hand a couple of times and add. Enjoy this delicious blackberry bourbon Halloween cocktail!
