5 Ingredient Teriyaki Chicken
Quick, easy, hardy meal for you and your family, or when entertaining friends!
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 10 minutes mins
Total Time 15 minutes mins
- 2 lbs chicken breast
- 14 oz teriyaki sauce*
- Salt (to taste)
- Lemon pepper (to taste)
- Garlic powder (to taste)
- 1/4 tsp Ground paprika (optional)
Cut chicken to 1/2 inch cubes and season with salt, lemon pepper, garlic and paprika (if desired).
In a medium size skillet (I prefer a cast iron for the perfect sear) add oil at medium heat.*
Add seasoned chicken and begin cooking.
Once chicken is almost cooked, add teriyaki sauce. Lower the heat and cook for three-five minutes. Continue to stir so sauce does not burn.
Serve immediately with a side of rice and/or vegetables. It can be garnished with sesame seeds, too.
¡Buen provecho from the Happy Wookiee!
Notes:
- It is best to use a teriyaki sauce that has the consistency of a glaze. However, if you have a marinade in hand, you may add a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp of cold water mixed with 1 tbsp of cornstarch) once it is all mixed together and the sauce has warmed up.
- If you have sesame oil, that is a great alternative to olive oil as far as flavor goes. I normally use that with some butter. If you are going for simpler and healthier, though, olive oil is the way to go. ; )
- Seasoning can be easily adjusted to taste. Feel free to play with the flavors!
- Serving with sriracha is also a hit for those who like a kick.
