How to Make Perfect Jasmine Rice in 20 Minutes.

Quick and easy jasmine rice that will always be perfect with these easysteps! The perfect side to your meals.

Equipment

  • 1 medium or small pot

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups jasmine rice*
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • seasoned salt to taste (I use Lawry's)
  • 3 cups water

Instructions
 

  • Add 3 cups of water to pot and set it boil.
  • Once water is boiling, add salt and olive oil.
  • Add 1.5 cups of jasmine rice.
  • Cover pot and set heat to low, about level 2 or 2.5.
  • Set timer to 15 minutes and do not open the pot until the timer is done.
  • After 15 minutes, open the pot and stir the rice.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dish.

Notes

I know there are different philosophies out there about whether or not to rinse your rice but jasmine rice. However, if you do rinse it, you will be getting rid of the residual starch and ensuring your rice turns out fluffy. Otherwise, that starch can be gelatinized during the cooking process and you will end up with some sticky grains. Still, you are more than welcome to your research and decide what is best for you.
